Well-known Ilminster faces show their support for Fairtrade via a social media campaign to raise the profile of Fairtrade in the town.  A Fairtrade quiz is also held at the Dolphin pub on Silver Street, with prizes generously donated by Ilminster Co-Op and Tesco stores.

A Fairtrade fact-finding trail is launched across the town centre for Fairtrade Fortnight.


November 2021

Chairman, Roger Gurner, presents Ilminster Town Council with the latest Fairtrade Community certificate at a meeting of Councillors, following a successful application to renew the town's Fairtrade status.

Ilminster Fairtrade partners with Ilminster Quakers to host a Fairtrade coffee morning and Bake-Off at Sweet Surprise as part of a programme of activities for Great Big Green Week.

Local cafes are encouraged to include Fairtrade ingredients in their dishes for Fairtrade Fortnight.

We host a screening of Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory at The Warehouse Theatre and Chocolate making workshops for children and adults, during Fairtrade Fortnight.

We welcomed Fairtrade Producer and representatives from the Fairtrade Foundation, held a Chocolate Festival and Fairtrade meal.  Greenfylde School work with PlayArt to unveil two fantastic Fairtrade mosaics.

Thanks to the staff and pupils of Greenfylde First School, a Fairtrade Christmas Tree is amongst those included at the annual Christmas Tree Festival at The Minster.  All proceeds to go towards the Resoure Box for Schools Project.

Ilminster Fairtrade supports the Mayor's Charity Quiz night.


Ilminster Fairtrade identifies a Fairtrade Churches Champion, to be officially appointed to the Management Committee in January 2018.

Ilminster Fairtrade participate in the Ilminster Midsummer Experience (IMEx) Charity Drive, selling Fairtrade refreshments and raising the profile of our work in the town.

Our Annual General Meeting is held at Greenfylde First School and includes a Fairtrade Quiz and freebies.

Ilminster Fairtrade partner with The Minster, St Mary's Church Ilminster, to host a Fairtrade Easter Egg Hunt.

Ilminster Fairtrade is made Co-operative Food's Local Cause of the Month, raising £15.44 in loose change at the checkouts.

Five new road signs are installed on the entry roads to Ilminster declaring the town's Fairtrade status.
